Hermantown’s Planning and Zoning Commission is responsible to hear and review a variety of permits and developments, as well as zoning ordinance matters. The Planning and Zoning Commission makes important recommendations to Hermantown’s City Council, but does approve Commercial Industrial Development Permits (CIDPs). 

 

This group handles Special Use Permits, Subdivision Plat Approval, Planned Unit Developments (PUDs), Grading and Filling Permits, Commercial and Industrial Development Permits, and issues regarding Hermantown’s zoning.

The Planning and Zoning Commission meets monthly on the third Tuesday at 7 p.m. at City Hall, except when that date is impacted by holidays or noted below.

Current members of this commission are Joe Peterson (Chair), Corey Kolquist, Valerie Ouellette, Beth Wentzlaff, Matt Fournier, and John Geissler, who serves as the City Council liaison, and Community Development Director Eric Johnson represents the city staff.
