Hermantown’s Utility Commission manages the water, sewer, and stormwater utilities, while also being responsible for making recommendations to the City Council regarding utility rates and improvements to be constructed and financed.


The Utility Commission is composed of Doug Kerfeld (Chairman)William Berg (Secretary/Recorder), Rob McLachlan, Howard Jacobson, and Jim Samberg. City Councilor Grant Hauschild serves as the liaison. The City’s Utility Billing Clerk, Lindsay Townsend, serves as the staff liaison.

The Utility Commission meets the third Thursday of every month at 5:30 p.m., unless the date overlaps with holidays or is noted below.
