Portion of Arrowhead Road Set for Temporary Closure in Hermantown

The stretch between Ugstad and Stebner Road will be closed to through traffic for several days

Hermantown, Minn. – A heavily-utilized stretch of Arrowhead Road will be closed for several days between August 13 and August 16 while a micro-sealing project is completed.

The two-mile stretch between Ugstad Road and Stebner Road will be inaccessible to through traffic during this time. The project is slated to take only two days, but weather may be a factor. Drivers should utilize Maple Grove Road, Highway 53, and other routes.

Residents in the area will have access to their homes during the project but may experience delays of up to 30 minutes when work is being performed in front of their driveways.

Micro-sealing work, sometimes called micro-surfacing, is designed to extend the life of roads that receive heavy traffic if it is performed when the road is already in good condition.
