Okerstrom Road Closure Set for Culvert Replacement
Keene Creek Park will only be accessible via trail until mid-September
Hermantown, Minn. – Okerstrom Road will be closed just short of the entrance to Keene Creek Park in Hermantown beginning Monday, August 12, while culvert replacement work is performed.
Keene Creek Park will be inaccessible from Okerstrom Road until mid-September, while Trout Unlimited replaces a key culvert initially damaged in the flooding of 2012 and works to improve the stream bed and habitat. Keene Creek Park will remain open to the public via the trail off Morris Thomas Road, which does not allow vehicle traffic.
Residents along this stretch of Okerstrom Road will still maintain access to their homes during this project.
