Hermantown Fire Department Opens Community Connect Tool
New System Allows Businesses and Residents to Create Safer Environments
Hermantown, Minn. – The Hermantown Fire Department has released a new system for both businesses and residents to create safer environments – for their customers, families, and firefighters in case of an emergency.
Community Connect will allow businesses and residents to document their property in a secure system which will support the HFD should they need to respond to an emergency.
“Our top priority is to ensure the well-being and safety of our community, and one of the best ways we can do that is through preventing emergencies before they happen,” said Steve Johnson, HFD Deputy Fire Chief. “By participating in Community Connect, residents and owners can play a key role in safeguarding their homes and businesses.”
In addition to residents being able to outline their unique property, needs, people, and even pets, businesses can work with the HFD through Fire and Life Safety Visits to be sure they are best serving their customers and employees should they encounter an emergency.
“Every business wants to keep their customers, employees, and community safe, but no one is very excited for a fire inspection,” said Johnson. “Through Community Connect and our Fire and Life Safety Visits, we will provide an opportunity to create safer environments and stronger protection that are more meaningful than just regulatory compliance. We all want a safer hometown and this is a great way for the business owners to aid in that effort.”
Businesses can schedule their Fire and Life Safety Visits through the Community Connect system, and both business owners and residents can enter their information on the site as well.
The new system can be found at www.hermantownmn.com/hfdvisits on the Fire Department’s portion of the City of Hermantown website.
