HERMANTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT – TWO FULL-TIME OFFICERS
With the support of Hermantown’s City Council, the Hermantown Police Department is increasing staff levels to 18 full-time officers.
Applications will be accepted to fill these two (2) added full-time police officer openings with a start date of June 2, 2025. We are seeking applications both from Lateral Entry and Entry Level Candidates. To be eligible for Lateral Entry consideration, candidates must have a minimum of one year of sworn law enforcement experience with a State, County, or Local jurisdiction.
Compensation and Benefits
- Current starting Patrol Officer (Entry Level) hourly wage: $33.39
- Current top Patrol Officer hourly wage: $45.70
- Step levels for Lateral Entry hires are negotiated at the final job offer
- Shift Differential Pay ($1.00/hour)
- 4.5% Out-of-Class pay for Detectives and School Resources Officer
- Yearly uniform allowance of $1,000
- 12-hour shifts, generally working 5 days on, 5 days off, 2 days on, 2 days off (every other weekend off with a 5-day stretch)
