Road Closures and Advisories for Hermantown’s SummerFest
City’s annual homecoming celebration is set for July 15 through July 19
Hermantown, Minn. – Hermantown is set for its annual homecoming celebration, SummerFest, beginning Wednesday, July 15, and continuing through Sunday, July 19.
The multi-day series of events features two temporary road closures and advisories for residents, motorists, and SummerFest participants.
- Thursday, July 16
- Expect increased traffic and parked vehicles along Arrowhead Road between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. for the Mary Murphy Jackson Project Home Open House.
- Increased traffic will also occur near the Essentia Wellness Center between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. for the YMCA Block Party.
- Friday, July 17
- Road closures will occur on Arrowhead Road between Stebner Road and Lavaque Road, and on Stebner Road between Arrowhead Road and Highway 53 near Skyline Social and Games for the Hermantown Hawks Blue Line Club 4K walk/run. This closure will fully stop all non-emergency traffic for about an hour.
- Increased traffic and vehicles parked on the roadside are expected near Fichtner Fields for the 10 p.m. Birthday Fireworks Celebration. The park will be open late for this event, but the turfed Centricity Park baseball field will close after the Hermantown Youth Baseball Home Run Derby.
- Saturday, July 18
- Ugstad Road will be closed between Maple Grove Road and the Hermantown Schools for the Fran Hubert SummerFest Parade at 11 a.m. This closure will begin at 10:45 a.m. and last for about 90 minutes for all non-emergency traffic.
