Local Developers’ Donation Allows for Significant Training Opportunity

Hermantown, Minn. – The Hermantown Fire Department will be performing a significant training burn within the Hermantown Marketplace on Saturday, May 11, from 7 a.m. until as late as 5 p.m.

Two roads will be closed as part of the training. Richard Avenue will be inaccessible between Stevie Drive and Lindgren Road, and Lindgren Road will be closed between Haines Road and Loberg Avenue.

The day-long event will feature a variety of training exercises for members of the Hermantown Fire Department within and around the house located at 4716 Lindgren Road.

The training is possible thanks to the donation of the structure by local developers Joe Peterson and Stevie Paulson of Platinum Properties and Patriot Properties of Hermantown.

Construction Project Set to Close Bridge on Hermantown Road

Bridge Near Five Corners Road Closes Wednesday, May 8

Hermantown, Minn. – A bridge closure will have a significant impact on traffic using Hermantown Road beginning next week, as the structure is set to be replaced as part of a several-month construction project.

The bridge, which is located east of Midway Road and near the intersection of Five Corners Road and Hermantown Road, will be closed beginning Wednesday, May 8, at 6:00 a.m.

The bridge will remain closed through the summer months as it is replaced. Hermantown Road will remain open to local traffic through the construction project, as will the portion of Old Midway Road that is also being reconstructed, but the bridge will not be passable beginning next week.

Non-local traffic traveling east/west on Hermantown Road will need to utilize other roads in the area, such as Maple Grove Road or Morris Thomas Road.
